Richard W. Davis
Richard W. Davis was born and raised in Northern California as the third of seven children. He has been doing genealogy for over 30 years, while simultaneously pursuing a career in real estate. Richard first became interested in Mennonite genealogy in 1983 while researching his Stauffer ancestry. After several research trips to Switzerland, Germany and Pennsylvania, he published The Stauffer Families of Switzerland, Germany, and America. Further research prompted him to establish a link between the Mennonite families in Switzerland and Germany and the Mennonite families who arrived in Pennsylvania in the 1700s. The result of this research was volumes I-III of Emigrants, Refugees and Prisoners. Richard has presently accumulated ample information to publish volume IV, however, because this research has grown so large and is always a work in progress, he has concluded that a web site is a more suitable way to distribute this information.
Richard currently lives in Provo, Utah with his wife, Lisa. They have five children and three grandchildren
